CWSRestart interface

Configuration

  • External IP contains the IP under which your PC is known in the world wide web. The access check from the internet will use this IP. Use the Refresh button to get your IP automatically.
  • LAN IP contains your local network IP. If CWSRestart checks for access from LAN, this IP will be used. You can get it automatically with the Refresh button.
  • When the server is not responding, restart with: usually contains the path to your server.exe. If CWSRestart needs to restart your server, the specified file will be executed. You can browser for your server with the Select... button. You can also chose a BAT file, if you want.
  • Check access from specifies, from wich networks CWSRestart should check access for your server. For instance: If Loopback is selected, CWSRestart will try to connect to 127.0.0.1.
  • Process is the name of the server process without extension.
  • Additional processes see section Additional processes.

General

  • Validate configuration will run a single check and display the results in the log.
  • Check for updates will connect to this website and see if the version you are using is up to date.
  • UPnP see section UPnP.
  • Save statistics to... will allow you to select a folder where statistics are saved. Statistics are saved into SQLite databases and can be read by other modules.
  • Start CWSProtocol will enable process to process communication. This allows other modules to talk to CWSRestart.

Watcher

  • Start watcher will start the watcher and turn into the Stop watcher button. The watcher will check your server periodically.
  • Intervall in seconds is the time between two checks. You can change this value and set it with Enter
  • The progressbar indicates, when the next check is scheduled. An endlessly scrolling bar means that the watcher is currently working and cannot be stopped right now.

Statistics

You can enable statistics in the lower right corner with the Enable statistics. If you haven't selected a location for your logfiles, the log will contain a message about that. You don't need to save your statistics if they aren't required by another program. The number of players is not updated in real time to improve performance.

Log

The log contains messages from CWSRestart. It will contain a maximum of 500 entries. If this limit is reached, older entries will be discarded. You can clear the log yourself with the Clear log button. You can also filter the entries with the checkboxes below the log.

IP Filter

The IP Filter dialog can be opened via the IP Filter button. In order to enable this button, you need to enable statistics. You also need to run CWSRestart as administrator.

The left list contains currently connected players. Double click on a player to add/remove them to/from your blacklist or whitelist. You can kick players by pressing the Delete key while having a player selected.

The list in the middle contains all players that ever visited your server. Double clicl a player to add/remove them to/from your list.

The right list is your blacklist or whitelist. You can select the mode in the bottom right. You can remove entries with a double click. Use the Add textbox to add a single IP or an IP range (e.g. 192.0.0.0 - 192.0.0.255). Use the buttons ons the lower left to save and restore your lists. The lists are saved automatically when you exit CWSRestart and loaded when you start CWSRestart. The file is located in the CWSRestart folder and named iplist.txt.

Additional processes

The Additional processes dialog allows you to select processes, that belong to your server. When CWSRestart terminates the server, any process listed here will be terminated as well. Double click a process to add/remove it from the list. You can also add processes by typing into the Add textbox and pressing Enter

UPnP

CWSRestart interface

You can use the UPnP dialog to forward the UDP/TCP port 12345. If the ports are already forwarded, you can use this function to remove the forwarding entry. This feature requires your router to have UPnP enabled.
